001. Back of a Web Page

For those who’ve ever wondered what’s on the other side…what’s on the back of a web page?

002. Bruce Campbell—Executive Edits Interview

Bruce Campbell, the man with a jaw line straight from a comic book and a resume that reads as a novel, is certainly an American original. Seriously, how many cats who hail from Michigan can say they have been the featured player in more flicks than Pacino? The thespian/director/author/humorist/’who knows what’s next’ B movie God has dipped all ten toes into the mainstream (and shallow) Hollywood pool, all the while maintaining his status as THE premiere underground cult icon of motion pictures. Immune to any recession that may infect the silver screen, Bruce is job security times infinite. Be it A, B, C, or whatever “list” the snobbish critics who judge but never indulge might dub him, Campbell endures as I described him in our exchange-the Cal Ripken of film. Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio and the rest of the glory hounds be damned, the Iron Man that is Bruce Campbell is as automatic as taxes and bad reality television. For us at Ee, we are thrilled to rap with “The Hardest Working Man in Showbiz.” Apologies to James Brown.

003. Wood & Faulk—Camera Wrist Strap

Well, I’ve devised a new project to keep myself busy, and I wanted to share it. I’ve been experimenting with a camera strap design, and I think I’ve finally got it. I’m going to be producing a small quantity of these and putting them for sale in the store soon. I don’t have an actual release date yet, because I want to have all of them built before listing. Quantity will be no more than 40 and I’m hoping to keep the price under $50.

004. Donald Glover is More Talented Than You

“Why now?” Glover asks no one in particular, turning his back on the panda—its eerie eyes staring like some sort of harbinger of ill times—and gazing into the mass of bodies writhing in the center of the room, speaking as if to the Holy Grail herself. “What changed that you’re making out with me now?” What changed is that Donald Glover is blowing up.

005. The Dumpster Project

1. I have archived much of my life through collected objects.
2. I am moving to a smaller studio, making it necessary that I get rid of a lot of these objects.
3. I will do so by using them as the raw material for one enormous collage, created inside a 30-yard dumpster.
4. Oh, before I build that thing, I am going to photograph around 400 of these objects and display them here, accompanied by a brief history of each item.

001. Desktime

Some need a full cup of coffee before they get to work. Some read the morning paper. Some people have to make sure every item on their desk is in a perfect perpendicular arrangement. Everyone, though, needs a place to sit. No matter where you are or what day it is, there’s an affordable desk waiting for you. We’re trying to change the way people use their workspace, giving people the ability to work from their apartment one afternoon and a bad ass office in the heart of the city the next. We’re based out of Chicago where we’re creating simple, useful software to help people find, share, and manage extra space. We manage our own coworking space in Chicago and use our software every day. We’re excited you’re trying our software and look forward to your help in building our community!

002. Ruler Height Chart

To help you get the measure of them! Folds in half for easy storage. Includes keyhole wall fixing; measures up to 150cm and 25cm wide. This is not a toy.

003. J.A. Christensen, Maker Ties

I made these neckties in a manner idiosyncratic to a tailor named H.A. Otter. It took me a number tries to understand his method of making a tie, which is practical, efficient, and elegant. His ties were not cut on the bias, they were cut with the weft (across the fabric’s width), as are mine. The most interesting thing I discovered in the process of making them was that the tie’s flare was actually a function of its manufacture.

004. A Testimony of Serpent Handling

Photographer Hunter Barnes, who is known for work telling the human story behind some of the world’s least understood cultures, spent months documenting one of the country’s last known congregations of Serpent Handlers. His images capture the strange and taboo practices – serpents, poison, and healing – of a dying community. Barnes is currently working to publish a book – A TESTIMONY OF SERPENT HANDLING – documenting his experiences and ensuring that this way of life is not lost.
