Cast of Dads 47 – Deuce in the Dryer

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

In case you are not already a faithful subscriber, I also do a parenting podcast with a great group of friends who are all dads.

The show is called Cast of Dads and we try to get together every couple of weeks to talk about any topics that are on our minds. Since our kids range in age from just walking all the way up to out of college, we’ve got a variety of opinions about everything.

This is the first show since Thanksgiving and of course we talked about what we ate, football and how our kids are doing.

Episode 47: Deuce in the Dryer

As with every episode, we provide show notes with links to all the topics we discuss on each episode. Enjoy!

Don’t forget to tell your friends about the show and have them subscribe to either our direct feed or via iTunes. Also, please leave us a review in iTunes!

Cast of Dads is a group of podcasting and blogging dads who gather to gab about fatherhood. The cast of dads includes C.C. ChapmanJeffrey SassMax KalehoffMichael Sheehan, and Brad Powell, who collectively represent 13 kids from the youngest of babies to full grown adults. Each of them brings a unique perspective to being a father.

Black Monday on DDTV

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

With the holiday season here, C.C. thought it would be fun to get a little playful with the naming of an episode of Digital Dads TV .

The plan was to review Call of Duty: Black Ops and then have the rock band Black Lab on the show. That was the plan, but due to some last minute time zone fun the band couldn’t make it. Don’t worry though, they will be on another episode soon enough.

Don’t forget that Digital Dads TV is live every Monday from 2-3 PM Eastern on The Pulse Network and then we post the show recap right here on Wednesdays.

You never know what next week might hold. Interested in being a guest or want to sponsor the show? E-mail us and we’ll see what we can do together.

Happy Movember

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

The minute we realized that November 1, 2010 would fall on a Monday, we knew that we had to dedicate the entire hour of Digital Dads TV to Movember.

By now we hope you know that Movember is a global event to raise awareness and money to help battle mens cancers. C.C. is taking part in it again this year and had some of the other members of Team Boston into The Pulse Network studio as well as Adam Garone, the founder of Movember, on the show via Skype.

There was so much masculinity in the studio that we actually blew out the power to the entire building which lead to some fun off camera screams and laughter. Kudos to our production team for the fun editing they did (around the 18 minute mark if you are curious).

Gro a Mo, Save a Bro

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

If you remember, last November I posted about taking part in Movember and I’m doing it again this year.

Movember is a global event that raises awareness and money to fight the cancers that directly effect men. Since we are dedicated to talking about everything guy related of course we’d be covering Movember.

They put together a great series of videos to raise awareness. More on the Movember YouTube Channel.

Now, if you are a guy and your thinking that you can’t grow a mustache right now for any reason, I’m here to tell you that all of them are wrong. I do a lot speaking and business meetings and while it is weird to walk into either with a mustache it is the perfect conversation starter and when you say that you are doing it to fight cancer everyone pays attention. My wife is not a big fan of facial hair, but she knows that it is for a good cause and supports it. (But, she loves when December arrives and I shave even more.)

This year, I’m part of Team Boston and I personally want to raise at least $5,000 in donations from individuals and corporations. I know money can be tough, but honestly every dollar helps so please donate today and then encourage others to do so. I’ve set up a handy URL of http://www.helpingthecause.com which goes directly to my donation page. Feel free to share it far and wide.

I don’t know if we’ll see a cure for cancer in my life time, but I’m hopeful that cures are on the way and I know that fund raising events like Movember are helping to make that happen.

So guys. Consider growing a Mo to help save a Bro! It is only 30 days and I know you can do it.

Movember

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Every day guys are getting diagnosed with Cancer.

Cancer is an ugly, terrible, horrible disease and I’m sure that everyone reading this agrees that the world would be a better place without it.

To do my little part to help with this, I’ve decided to join a global movement that is bringing much needed attention to cancers that affect men. I’m doing this by growing a Mustache this Movember, the month formerly known as November. My commitment is to grow a mustache all November and I am hoping that you will support my efforts by making a donation. The funds raised go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LIVESTRONG).

Movember

Now, I can’t grow facial hair that well. The last time I tried was NOT a fun little experiment so I have no idea how this is going to go. Especially with a couple of conferences this month that I have to attend and speak at. But, it’ll make for a great conversation piece!

When I read that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 18-35, I couldn’t fear the ‘Mo and had to sign up.

What I’m asking of you is to help spread the word by telling people about Movember and encouraging them to come to my donation page at http://www.helpingthecause.com and make a donation. My personal goal is to have Team Mofries raise over $10,000 but I am going to need you, your friends and your places of employments help to make this a reality.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund:

  • The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance program which has the goal of improving survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40.
  • Research initiatives to further understand the biology of adolescent and young adult cancers.

Thanks in advance for helping with this and for helping a great cause.
